Why are there so few women composers - or rather, why do you hear so little about those that there are?
Why are there so few professional (or even semi-professional/amateur) women conductors?
Why are there many women interested in the creative arts in general when younger, and yet so few who are older?
What, if anything, has sex to do with creativity? Note that here I am using sex rather than gender (kind) as I mean the sex difference. Is the preponderance of males in most areas of the creative arts simply an extension of the generally male dominated social structure of our society, or is it symptomatic of something more basic.
Males are in general more violent and more obsessive. For better or worse, they are more prone to strange and often rather inexplicable behaviour.
