Introduction

The internet means having to consider new ways of describing and even conceiving of information, although this anomaly is present in computer information storage too. For instance, if an image is considered to be illegal - if, for instance, it's pornographic, then where does the image itself actually reside? On the server, where it is, of course, not an image as such but a file?
