0: In/Out Check

Studio 3/Mac OSX

  1. ----- Start-up sequence ---------------
  2. Turn 828mk2 off
  3. Plug mic into mic/guitar 1
  4. Restart the Mac
  5. 828 on while screen is blank
  6. Alesis RA-100 (amp) power on, L/R volume up (not too much!)
  7. At Mac log-in, click on APU Music Department
  8. input password (no caps), if you've forgotten, email me or ask Peter or Julio
    ----- End of Start-up sequence -----
  9. Draw the cursor to the bottom of the Mac's screen, the Dock will appear.
  10. Open Max/MSP
  11. Open Extras/Audiotester
  12. Start the patch
  13. Speak into the mic, and check the test tone
  14. If it's working, that's great!

  15. If it's not, then try this:
  16. Start-up sequence (see above)
  17. Apple menu/System Preferences
  18. Choose Sound
  19. Output tab = MOTU 828mk2
  20. Input tab = MOTO 828mk2
  21. Close window (red cross, left hand corner (opposite to Windows!)
  22. Open Max/MSP (see above)
  23. While in Max/MSP, go to Options/DSP Status, and choose the following in order:
  24. Open Extras/Audiotester
  25. Start the patch
  26. Speak into the mic, and check the test tone
  27. If it's working, that's great!
  28. If it's not, then start again!

Audiotester is called a patch. Patches are Max/MSP's primary interface with us.
