Groove~ Project
- Open a new patcher;
- Create a new object - type in it "groove~";
- In the Max Window you'll see an error message - why?;
- Select your new object and then select "Help on groove~" from the MaxMSP Help menu;
- Study the patch that appears (if it hasn't appeared, or if the help menu is blank, make sure you've created the object correctly and that it's selected);
- Download the sample called "048.aiff" from the 'SOUNDS' folder of the "rh examples" folder;
- Load the sample into the patch;
- Get it going - make sure you understand what's happening and what is doing what to what;
- Open a new patch;
- Copy and paste the whole patch into your new patch;
- Check your new patch is working;
- One by one, remove objects - each time checking whether your patch still works. If it stops working, undo the deletion and continue elsewhere;
- When you minimised the number of objects in your patch, create lines to control the start and end loop points of your groove object;
- Also include a mousestate object using some functionality there. Try and work out a way of switching between lines and mousestate;
- Post your patch onto your website, if applicable;
- Ensure that it is downloadable and that it works;
- Include an appropriate sample to use;
- Include documentation either within the patch or on the website;
- Check that it works by getting someone else to try it - you can do the same for one of your colleagues.
